4 Reasons You Shouldn’t Quit on Your Marriage

Being unhappy is a choice that can be changed at any time; any time both partners decide. Unfortunately, one of the partners usually has to lead by example. And if you are consistently playing that role, it makes sense that you’re ready to throw in the towel. But here are a few reasons I’ll challenge you to fight just a little bit longer and harder. 1. You Owe It To Yourself: You are worthy of the best life has to offer. In some ways you will have to contribute to that. Love and happiness are worth pursuing with everything we have. 2. You Owe It To Your Spouse: You owe it to your spouse as imperfect as he or she may be. Please recognize we are all imperfect. Our partners aren’t the only ones with bad habits. If they are willing to put up with ours, we should also be open to working through theirs. We must also remember our vows were sacred. We made a promise to our spouse. In order to keep those promises, we can’t quit. 3. You’ll Be Taking The Easy Way Out: Some may not be as concerned with this one. But it speaks to who we are as a person. How you do anything is how you do everything. If you quit here or take the easy way out, this is how you’ll show up in other areas of your life. Is this the person you really want to be? 4. Love Feels Great: Love feels great, especially when it’s done right. Love should enhance our lives. People in healthy relationships are less stressful, live longer and feel good. Don’t you want that? Although it feels a little funky now, you have the power to turn things around. Motivate yourself and your spouse to make the changes needed in order to get to that happy place.
